OXO Customer Service

Fabulous!

Source
OXO is a brand I've written about previously. I purchase a lot of their products, and specific to baby items, I love their OXO Tot Baby Block Set, which I mentioned previously.

I pulled a set out of the freezer the other day to discover one of the 2-oz containers had a crack running all down the side. It was completely ruined and I had to throw it away. I purchased these from amazon.com, but sent a letter directly to OXO customer service. In less than a week, I had a response in my inbox and a free replacement piece in the mail headed my way - no questions asked - no receipt needed, no picture of the damaged product, nothing.

On a scale of 1-10, how likely am I to praise this company and recommend them to others? 20!! They're amazing. Customer service is so important to me and this experience was top notch.

What companies have you had good experiences with? Bad experiences? Share in the comments!

Make It!

Baby Food Edition

Applesauce

Prep time: 5 minutes
Yields: approximately 12 ounces

After successfully making pureed pears (or pearsauce, as I like to think of it), it's time to conquer apples! Here's how:

Here's what an apple looks like, for those who are really starting from square one...

Peel and slice. Remove core, seeds, and stem

Dice into 1" cubes and toss into your food processor (or blender)

Here's what one apple yields (it's a VERY small food processor and was purchased before I knew I was carrying a litter of children and not just one)

Pulse on high. Initially, I assumed there would be enough natural liquid to fully blend the apples into a sauce but I was very wrong.

See? No amount of blending and pulsing was going to make these chunks disappear...

I added some breast milk and voila! That did the trick.

Throw the applesauce in the OXO tot baby blocks. These are 2-oz blocks, which means one apple and milk yielded just under 12-oz of applesauce.

Tip: The same methods can be used with pears to create a pearsauce for baby.
Tip 2: Once you've introduced the applesauce and are ready to try something new, add some cinnamon!

Pro Tip

Avocados: Getting The Most Bang For Your Buck

Source

When mashing avocados for Aubrey and Lily, I only use what I know will be eaten in a day or two. Once an avocado is cut into, it starts to go bad very quickly. To get the most bang for my buck, I cut the remaining avocado into slices, store in a plastic bag and freeze it. When I'm ready to make a new batch of mashed avocado, I thaw out a slice and it's ready to go.

I use the OXO Tot Baby Block Set to store my homemade baby food. I have 12 2-oz containers and 4 4-oz containers. So far this quantity is working out well!
